What makes a good card listing photo

  • Front and back. Buyers want to see both sides. A side-by-side image shows them at a glance in search results.
  • Tight crop. The card should fill the frame, with an even margin, so buyers can judge the corners and centering.
  • Straight. A tilted card looks off-center even when it isn't. Use the straighten slider until the borders run parallel to the crop box.
  • Big enough to zoom. eBay accepts photos from 500 pixels on the long side, but 1600 pixels or more lets buyers zoom in on corners and surface.

How to use it

  1. Add the front photo, then switch to Back and add the back photo.
  2. Drag the crop box onto the card and pull a corner to size it. The Card shape keeps the standard 2.5 by 3.5 inch proportions; Slab fits a graded holder.
  3. Straighten each side, pick a background and download the JPG.

The card photography guide covers lighting and setup.

Questions

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. Cropping, straightening and the final JPG all happen in your browser.

Should I use a white or black background?

White or light gray looks clean in search results and suits most cards. Black can make light borders and chrome cards stand out. Pick whichever shows the card's edges best.

Can I edit flaws out of the photo?

Don't. Cropping and straightening are fine, but buyers rely on photos to judge condition, and hiding flaws leads to returns and bad feedback.
