How long does PSA grading take?
PSA quotes turnaround in business days by service level, from about 5 days at the top to 100 at Standard. Here's how to turn that into a real date for your submission.

How the clock works
The count starts when PSA receives your package, not when you ship it. Only business days count, so weekends and holidays are skipped. That makes 20 business days about four calendar weeks, and 100 business days close to five months.
Estimate your return date
- Find the date PSA received your package in the carrier's tracking.
- Count forward the fewest and most business days for your level.
- Add a few days for return shipping.
The grading turnaround tracker does the counting for every submission you have out, skipping weekends and US federal holidays.
What slows an order down
- Demand. Turnaround stretches when submissions surge, such as after a big release or a price drop.
- Upcharges. If a card is worth more than your level allows, it moves to a higher level, which can change its timing.
- Research. Cards that are hard to identify, such as rare parallels or oddball issues, can take longer.
- Missing details. An incomplete or unclear submission form can hold up the order.
Getting cards back faster
Paying for a faster level is the only reliable way to shorten the wait. Whether it's worth it depends on the card: for a card you plan to sell into a hot market, a faster level can pay for itself. Run the numbers in the grading calculator and plan the levels in the submission planner.
Questions
Does PSA count weekends in turnaround?
No. PSA's turnaround estimates are in business days, so weekends and holidays don't count.
When does PSA turnaround start?
When PSA receives your package. The days your cards spend in transit don't count toward the estimate.
